Job Description: Automotive Service Advisor

An automotive service advisor plays a crucial role in a vehicle repair or maintenance facility by acting as a liaison between customers and the service department. They are responsible for ensuring a seamless automotive service experience for customers and ensuring that their needs are met efficiently and satisfactorily. The primary focus of an automotive service advisor is to provide excellent customer service and generate revenue for the facility.

Responsibilities:
1. Greet customers as they arrive at the service facility and provide them with a warm and professional welcome.
2. Listen and understand customers' concerns and requirements regarding their vehicles to accurately determine the services or repairs needed.
3. Clearly communicate the diagnosis and necessary repairs to customers, including any additional services that may benefit them.
4. Provide accurate estimates for the cost of repairs, ensuring transparency and taking into account parts, labor, and additional charges.
5. Obtain necessary approvals from customers before commencing any repairs or additional services.
6. Coordinate and schedule service appointments, ensuring that appointment times are suitable for the customer and the availability of technicians.
7. Monitor the progress of repairs and communicate updates to customers throughout the service process.
8. Act as a trusted advisor by making recommendations based on vehicle manufacturer guidelines and the customers' needs to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
9. Upsell additional services, such as preventative maintenance, tire rotations, or tune-ups, to increase revenue for the facility.
10. Follow up with customers after service completion to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or further needs.
11. Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, services performed, and charges incurred.
12. Collaborate with the service department and technicians to prioritize and expedite urgent repairs and ensure timely completion.
13. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and vehicle systems to provide accurate and relevant information to customers.
14. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, to maintain a safe working environment.
15. Provide exceptional customer service by demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism in all customer interactions.

Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within the automotive industry.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
5. Ability to accurately estimate repair costs and explain them to customers.
6. Demonstrated ability to upsell additional services.
7. Proficient in using computer software for recordkeeping and communication.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
11. Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
12. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
13. A valid driver's license.
